I certainly do. That old adage ‘there has to be more to life’, well there is although it does require a great deal of push-back against obstacles, difficult conditions and disadvantage.
Having been unemployed for a number of years now, there are many changes I wish to make in 2014, for starters, I intend making some productive use of my time by re-connecting with the community I inhabit.
What do you wish to change in 2014?
It’s no big secret that there are many of us where one positive change would be finding a job and for many in employment the risk of losing a job is still a factor requiring great effort to avoid. While conditions are still shaky, the upside is that local state agencies are working hard to safeguard employment and help jobseekers every way possible, this we have to take full advantage of this year.
At a guess I would say there are several hundred people in Westmeath, who are either thinking of or have the potential to become self employed, there may be many in this category snowed under with debt; talent, knowledge and experience may be their most valuable asset and the key to constructive change.
Over the past couple of years many have taken the brave step of choosing self employment, the only choice for many of them. Staying in business is not only vital for these individuals but is vital for the whole community. With every job created and new business started the odds become more favourable for everyone wishing for positive change.
As I was writing this I received confirmation of a place on Westmeath Community Development’s, Business Development Programme. This is a significant step forward in my personal goal to make 2014 the year of serious change for me and my family.
Change is the business I will be engaging in, supporting the changes others are hoping to make happen is what I will be dedicating my time to.
Please take a look around my website and blog. Drop me an email if you feel I can help and if you want to be updated on events, workshops and services as I develop this business and get it on the road, with the help of W.C.D. and YOU.
Thanks’ for the visit please spread the word.
